We are excited to offer the opportunity for players league ages 9-12 to continue playing baseball into the summer season with GLL’s Summer Tournament teams. There are three different levels of play during the summer season, District 57 All Stars, and each of the Gold and Black Tournament Teams. The opportunity to participate on GLL’s District 57 All-Star Team and the Gold Tournament Team is an honor for those players that have earned selection. These Summer Tournament Teams are intended to represent GLL’s top players, as recognized by their managers, coaches, and peers in competitive post-season Tournament Play. These teams will typically have 12 players, based on the outcome of voting. Selection details for each age group are outlined later in this email. The Black Tournament Team is fully sign-up based and as such, may have some variation in roster size. There is no selection process, or evaluations. Teams will be formed based on league age regardless of the division they played in during the spring season. However, we must be able to fill a roster and have managers/coaches to run that age group. There is also a possibility of running multiple teams per age group, if signups for both players and coaches allow. All teams will play other tournament teams in various, multi-day tournaments around District 57, so some local travel will be required.
Participation Summer Tournament Teams will require extreme flexibility on the families part. Because of the tournament nature, we cannot provideexactend dates, so families must prepare and be willing to commit to participating through the end of the summer. **DISTRICT 57 All- Star Team Specific Information * The opportunity to participate in the District All-Stars season is an honor for those players that have earned selection.
