First and foremost thank you for all your hard work and dedication to your teams and the league.  Field Day 2019 next Saturday February 16th.

What is Field Day?

Field Day is a huge group effort to clean and tidy up the grounds and fields before Opening Day which is only a little more than two short weeks away!

Who is this for?

Field Day is for everyone - parents and kids (players). We have some amazing fields and facilities at Granada highlighted by the new asphalt, and Maintenance Building behind fields 2 and 3. Field Day is also a great way to come together as one Granada Little League Community.

What Time?

8:00 am - everything gets done. There are no team practices scheduled on Field Day so every team should participate until everything gets accomplished.

What Gets Done?

Each division / team is responsible for the field and or surrounding area where their team plays.

Tee Ball Field -

The Tee Ball Field is in great shape. The only two things that really need to be done is some weeding, behind the third base dugout, and some pruning of the trees that are also by the third base dugout. The shade tarp will also need to be rehung on the shade structure behind home plate too.

Fields 1 and 2

** Clean out the dugouts
** Zip Tie any part of the green mesh on the outfield fence
** Weeding of the bullpens
** Rototilling of the dirt area down the outfield lines and around the surrounding
    outfield

Field 3

** Clean out the dugouts
** Remove the green mesh that is on the outfield fence
** Weeding of the bullpens
** Weeding on both the inner and outer parts of the outfield fence in selected areas
** Rototilling of the dirt area down the outfield lines and around the surrounding
    outfield

Field 4

** Clean out the dugouts
** Zip Tie any part of the green mesh that is on the outfield fence
** Weeding of the bullpens
** Weeding on both the inner and outer parts of the outfield fence in selected areas
** Rototilling of the dirt area down the outfield lines and around the surrounding
    outfield

Fields 1, 2, 3, and 4

All four of the fields will be getting new dirt this year. The dirt will arrive on pallets and be dropped by each field on Friday the 15th. The dirt is in 50lb bags and will need to be opened and dumped on each field by hand. This will vastly improve the field conditions for the players.

What should you bring?

Bring any rakes, shovels, and brooms that you may have. I highly recommend labeling anything you bring, so it does not get taken by accident. If anyone has any blowers that would be a great help when cleaning out the dugouts. I would also highly recommend that everyone bring some type of work gloves. Finally if anyone has a rototiller that they could bring that would be a great help. It would be nice to rototill the dirt area between the fence and the outfield grass on each field.

What is provided?

The league has a couple of wheel barrels,  rakes, zip ties, and two blowers. Gas will also be provided for any piece of equipment that requires it. We also have plenty of garbage bags too.

Finally - What if it rains?

If it rains next Saturday we will reschedule Field Day 2019 for the following Saturday - February 23.

Thank you all in advance and we look forward to seeing and working with everyone on Saturday February 16th.

Respectfully your Field Managers Team,
